Kubuntu..on my laptop!

Yesterday was the first time I installed Kubuntu on my laptop. Why not Ubuntu? You may ask!

The answer is simple; since I used Linux for the first time I fall in love with the KDE desktop on Fedora Core 2. I prefer the blue of Kubuntu rather than the brown color of Ubuntu and I think that the Kubuntu KDE interface suit more to my “windows’s” reflex and needs much more than the Ubuntu’s kde do.

You can download the cds from the ubuntu website, but it’s funnier to ask for shipment. After a couple of week u will receive some “original” cds for the platforms you asked.

If you have windows XP already installed in your PC and want to use alternatively any Linux distribution and windows you have first to create some unallocated disk space.

And install Linux on it. The grub which is a boot manager will handle the dual boot offering you the choice between windows and Linux when your pc starts.

These are some quick and dirty tips for advised users if you need more details RTFM :p (read the fucking manual) then just drop me a line :) i'll be happy to help!

Quand tu auras donné l'explication, je pourrais te dire "Why not Ubuntu?". :-)

Largo.
